Any undown areas will result the tile to rock back and forth, even after you place tiles. If the tiles are not placed flat, it will crack under pressure. A leveler can be used to make sure that there is a flat surface with no defects.
  • Plan tile layout : It is necessary to decide, where to begin and where to end. This is important because you will most likely have to cut at the end to make correct. It is wise to put cut pieces where they could not be easily visible. It is best to mark with a chalk line the entire area before laying.
  • Mix the mortar : Once the beginning and ending is decided, begin to mix the mortar. It is not appropriate to mix too much in advance as it sets before you can use it. Using a new trowel spread the mortar over a small area.
  • Lay the tiles : Lay the tiles upon mortar and using spacers make sure running with the chalk line. Once tile is placed avoid lifting again. A small change will result adjustment to all tiles. So the work is very attentive. Wash the tiles with a cotton soft cloth for any mortar lefts on tiles. Finally to allow drying.
  • Apply of grouts : Paving tiles necessarily do not require grouts to be applied. In matters to inside flooring of paving tiles, grouts can be applied.
  • Cleaning : As the floor dries, there is a likelihood of haze forming over the tiles. Allow it to dry completely and then with cotton cloth to clear off the haze.

Blocks have joints that allow for a movement under stress conditions without breaking. Block pavers are easy to repair or/and replace, importantly when repairs are done to the base or underground utilities. Asphalt, concrete cannot claim this. About durability and lasting; pavers should last more than 30 years, which is much longer than alternative pavements under normal residential use. It is eco-friendly owing to advantages like; recharge ground water, reduction of Co2 emission, reduction of fresh water toxicity, use of local components, creating a clean and sociable environment, reusable & recyclable and more others. Is paving block value for money product? Yes it is. Pavers offer beauty, elegance and above all a sociable environment. It enhances property valuation. They function by providing a solid surface while at the same time allowing water to drain naturally into the earth through the voids or holes. Grass pavers, natural cobble stone pavers are of such category. There are other design types also and a lot of development is happening. What are quality standards of paving tile? Laying paver blocks or installation of interlocking paving blocks involves a set of procedures as :
  • Step â 1: Design and layout
  • Step â 2: Estimate quantities
  • Step â 3: Excavation
  • Step â 4: Base backfill
  • Step â 5: Kerb installation
  • Step â 6: Bedding sand
  • Step â 7: Laying the pavers
  • Step â 8: Compaction and finish.
Complete information in detail is available upon request. Is it acceptable to use crusher dust as bedding under pavers? No. Crusher dust has too many fine particles that gets washed out as water flows through the material, and large stone flakes that break down under repeated loads from tires. These two factors result in settlement and ruts developing in driveways. Concrete sand is recommended. It is the same sand used in concrete. Do I have to seal my pavers? Sealing is not essential in many applications; with the exception of areas around swimming pools (sealer provides chemical resistance to pool chemicals). Can dirty and broken blocks be replaced? Dirty pavers need to be cleaned. When broken blocks is required to be replaced, simply remove the sand surrounding the block by using screwdrivers; insert the new block, fill sand and hammer with a rubber mallet to compact it. How to estimate costs of paving blocks? Cost estimation of paving blocks is rather subjective one. Various pavement applications require to meet various quality requirements. Each project work requires individual estimations and specific. However, our block costs for ex-factory prices are like Rs. 45/-sq.ft. For 60mm blocks of grey type which is just a reference. Again, costs will be provided upon requirements to different quality standards. Where the pavements can be applied? The pavements can be applied to pedestrian footpath; domestic driveway; municipal mall/plaza; supermarkets and other car parks; estate road â housing / industrial; warehouse parking; container yards; airport airside pavements and other such areas where pubic as well as vehicular movement is immense. What is the durability of paving blocks? Presently all kinds of study has shown life of pavers is more than 40 years. Paving is likely to suffer from staining and marking due to general trafficking or contamination from other sources. There is also notice of vegetation growing in joints or in areas subject to long periods of dampness. To remove dirt and detritus, regular brushing is recommended. Warm water may be used. If a power hose is used then care must be taken to avoid the removal of the joint materials and to be inspected again for joining material replaced as required. Oil penetrates readily into the concrete, but it should not stain if any spillage is removed immediately with an absorbent material like paper towels or cloth. Do not wipe as this will spread will over a wide area. Otherwise, scrub the surface with detergent and wash with hot water. Bitumen does not stick to concrete and should be left till drying. A scraper plate to be used to remove. Scuff marks can be removed by steam cleaning or by scrubing with hot water. Smoke, fire and tobacco stains can be removed by scrubing with soap and water A periodic cleaning is required and enhance the life of pavers What is efflorescence? White patches appearing on the surface of the concrete paving naturally cause concern and this is efflorescence. It is a surface deposit on the concrete seen either in the form of white patches or as a more general lightening in color. When the later is seen, it is often misinterpreted as a fading or washing out of the color of pigmented concrete. The weather is a significant factor in efflorescence when concrete becomes wet and dries slowly; therefore occurrences are more frequent in winter months. Generally it only occurs in the early life of the concrete paving products and materials which have been in place for a year or more. The phenomenon is temporary and will generally disappear in time without affecting strength and quality. Why paving tiles require more of mainteanance? Paving tiles require more of maintenance than flooring tiles because of the design itself. As paving tiles are designed in groove like patterns there is every likelihood of dusts depositing in it which ultimately, help in controlling dusty atmosphere. In a sense paving tiles fulfils the objective of anti skid as well as dust catcher; will necessarily demand a little of maintenance basically cleaning. Considering the looks of paving tiles, small effort of maintenance and cleaning is worth desired and which ultimately enhances the life of the pavings. The paving tiles always look like new and shinier. What are the common problems to paving tiles? Appearance of pin holes, which is due to abrasion. This so happens owing to manufacturer selection of sand aggregates. This problem is addressed by application of an abrasion resistance sealant on the surface of tile. Efflorescence is another problem. A separate question is there and please refer to that particular answer. Paving tile is not very flat. Yes, the flatness of paving tile is a debatable matter. Paving tiles are basically manufactured by manual process and hence there is a likelihood of flatness problem. But this flatness is more or less by a lesser extent and the mansion has to adjust the tile while laying. Do you provide paving design services? Yes, upon request we provide design services or refer to our architects. What are the prices of your paving tile? We manufacture paving tiles of different standards.
